Who knew such a simple thing could be so complex. When I was little I used to long for the day when I could be an adult. I thought life would be SO much easier! I could do what I want, when I wanted. I clearly had no idea the things I chose to do would have consequences and impact the world around me. Every choice I make has the potential to change the world. If I bought products from large chains stores I could be supporting slavery in other countries. Eating meat more than a few times a week could help contribute to a shortage of food for those in developing countries. Choosing to drive my car constantly could also help push up the cost of goods, impacting others around me on lower, fixed incomes. Over five years ago I left a comfortable neighbourhood to move into a 'not so comfortable' area of Winnipeg. I have never regretted it. I have never looked back.
