Sigh. What a day. What a week. It is only Tuesday. When I started this week I certainly did not expect it to go like this. Yes, I am only two days in. However, that is two days down and three to go.
I am buying a house, transitioning out of a job, trying to get yoga started for free in the West End (with the help of two amazing women!) and trying to keep it all straight in my head. I told a regular at the Cafe today I basically complete a triathlon in my head every day.
I have insurance papers signed. I need to get laundry done. I have funds being transferred into accounts. I have to go back to the lawyer's office yet. I am getting things done at work. I am trying to 'train' someone (to temporarily take my place) who is only in when it works for his schedule and it does not really matter what I'm doing when he comes by. I have most of my stuff packed. I have a lot more to pack yet. I have bedding for my new bed. I need to find paint for the bedroom. I have more boxes than I need and another dear friend who can use them.
I only have so many hours in the day. Yet it seems as though there are all these people needing me to do things and I feel as though I am being lost in it all. For months now i have had countless people simply telling me what to do. Maybe I am glad to be leaving the Cafe, if only for the freedom I will have to do whatever I want, however I want.
No, I will miss my staff. I will miss my customers. I will miss the chance to help make the West End better. However, I have bought my house in this area. Surely that has to make a difference.
On Friday I head down to City Hall for (hopefully) the last time to talk about the proposed bike lane for Sherbrook. Wow, what a way to end a week.
Yet when all is said and done, it is not I who is most important in all of this. I firmly believe in God. I believe He is active in my life. Some days I wish He would help with some of the cleaning and laundry. : ) Whilst He does not help with that, He does help with the bigger, more amazing things in my life. I know there is another job on the horizon. I know I will settle wonderfully into my new home. I know I will continue to help my neighbours have a better life. And I know it is good.
